Help Poland to save whales!

The Polish Minister of the Environment has a chance to protect the whales if he acts now.

Every year at the meeting of the International Whaling Commission (IWC), the Japanese Government delegation and other pro-whaling countries do everything they can to try to lift the moratorium on commercial whaling.

Japan has spent a lot of effort and money to get countries that support its position to join the IWC. In 2006 the pro-whaling countries were almost strong enough to start taking away the protection that have been put in place for whales.

Now is the time for Poland to stand up for the whales!

Poland is a country that supports protection of whales and would like to see the moratorium on commercial whaling stay in place. But it can only do this if it is a member of the IWC. Poland has started to join but time is running out.

Please send an email or letter to the Polish Minister of the Environment and ask him to hurry up and complete the paperwork to join the IWC, the whales need Poland now.
